Welcome to the faithful stewards of the Metropolis of Atlanta serving as Vicars, Philoptochos Metropolis Board members, Metropolis Council members, Diakonia Retreat Center Board members, Metropolis Endowment Board members, and Archons. Congratulations to our 2019 Archangel Michael parish honorees and Metropolitan's Choice honorees. We expect more than 400 in attendance at our Archangel Michael Feast & Honors Banquet on Saturday, November 9 and look forward to our Hierarchical Liturgy at Annunciation Cathedral on Sunday, November 10th.

September 10-12, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios was joined by Bishop Sevastianos and 75 clergy of the Metropolis of Atlanta. The three-day gathering at the Diakonia Retreat Center offered continuing education and important resources for Metropolis Clergy. It concluded with a Divine Liturgy in Panagia Chapel and remarks by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios in support of the ministry of our clergy and the 74 parishes of the Metropolis of Atlanta.

AXIOS! On this feast day of St. Panteleimon, Archbishop Nikitas was enthroned as the hierarch and archpastor of the Greek Orthodox of Archdiocese of Thyrateira and Great Britain.   Metropolitan Alexios and numerous hierarchs, clergy and faithful were in attendance.

All active and retired clergy are asked to register for our upcoming Fall Clergy Retreat, September 10-12, 2019 at the Diakonia Retreat Center.

All active and retired Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy (Priests & Deacons) are invited to join us for our next clergy retreat. Please plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. We will adjourn at noon, on Thursday, September 12. Please note - this is a change from the originally announced dates of October 8-10, 2019.

Parishes can download the forms, instructions, and manual to complete their 2020 Archdiocese Allocation Form, which will facilitate the 2020 Archdiocese Allocation process both at the Metropolis level and the Archdiocese level.

All clergy, Parish Council Presidents & Treasurers, and Audit Chairs are advised that the 2020 National Ministries Allocation Form and instructions can be downloaded to prepare for the April 1st submission deadline. Click here to view.

The Assembly remains steadfast in its conviction that any interference in the development of life is a serious issue, and therefore it regularly participates in a variety of relevant events and also releases pertinent statements on the topic. Metropolis of Atlanta Youth gather in Atlanta for Annual Dance Festival.

CHARLESTON (December 30, 2018) - William Damaskos was ordained into the Diaconate at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Charleston, South Carolina by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios.

On Thursday evening, December 27th, Metropolitan Alexios presided at the opening blessing of the 2018 Winter Youth Rally at Annunciation Cathedral in Atlanta with more than 700 youth and adults present.

On Christmas, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios and Fr. George Tsahakis joined Fr. Thomas Alissandroni and his parishioners at St. John the Wonderworker Church to feed more than 200 homeless. Appreciation is expressed to Mr. Demetrios Hadjisimos and our Atlanta Cathedral volunteers for preparing the food. Thanks to all who donated food and helped serve and distribute it, including parishioners from St. Christopher Church in Peachtree City, GA.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. — A dozen Greek Craftsmen have traveled thousands of miles to help build a one of a kind church in Palm Harbor.

Congratulations to our five Metropolitan's Choice Honorees and our 133 Honorees from 69 of our parishes in our eight southeastern states. More than 450 of our Atlanta Metropolis parishioners attended the Honors Banquet on Saturday, November 10th. Our Metropolis Annunciation Cathedral was packed on Sunday morning, November 11 when His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios presided at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, assisted by Fr. Constantine Xanthakis, Fr. George Tsahakis, Fr. Paul Kaplanis, Fr. Efstratios Anthony, Fr. Christos Mars, Fr. Gregory Edwards, and Dn. George Malanos. Congratulations to our 2018 Honorees.
