On Saturday, March 21, our Atlanta Cathedral will host the 2020 Parish Presidents Meeting from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Workshops will feature resources and question and answer sessions for the following topics: youth protection, insurance, construction, renovation and iconography projects, guiding parishes with clergy transitions, new changes to the Archdiocese Allocation Program, monetary savings on candles, educational symposia, and new regional councils within the Metropolis.

(For honorees who were unable to join us, you were greatly missed! Your medal and certificate are on the way to your parish and your Parish Priest will award you with them at the end of liturgy on an upcoming Sunday.)

SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Saint Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine invites one and all to a Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 8, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Guests will be able to tour the Shrine and its exhibits and the ornate chapel on the premises, as well as meet newly-assigned Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, the official representative of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America under whose jurisdiction the Shrine falls. Refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable food items for a collection to benefit local food pantries and depositories as we approach the Christmas holiday.

On Saturday, November 16, Bishop Sevastianos invited clergy and lay leaders from the Coastal Conference to meet at Holy Trinity Church in Columbia, Georgia to implement Metropolis goals and establish a conference calendar. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios has asked His Grace to establish and build up our Metropolis' seven regional conferences. Thanks to all who participated today.

Welcome to the faithful stewards of the Metropolis of Atlanta serving as Vicars, Philoptochos Metropolis Board members, Metropolis Council members, Diakonia Retreat Center Board members, Metropolis Endowment Board members, and Archons. Congratulations to our 2019 Archangel Michael parish honorees and Metropolitan's Choice honorees. We expect more than 400 in attendance at our Archangel Michael Feast & Honors Banquet on Saturday, November 9 and look forward to our Hierarchical Liturgy at Annunciation Cathedral on Sunday, November 10th.

September 10-12, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios was joined by Bishop Sevastianos and 75 clergy of the Metropolis of Atlanta. The three-day gathering at the Diakonia Retreat Center offered continuing education and important resources for Metropolis Clergy. It concluded with a Divine Liturgy in Panagia Chapel and remarks by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios in support of the ministry of our clergy and the 74 parishes of the Metropolis of Atlanta.

AXIOS! On this feast day of St. Panteleimon, Archbishop Nikitas was enthroned as the hierarch and archpastor of the Greek Orthodox of Archdiocese of Thyrateira and Great Britain.   Metropolitan Alexios and numerous hierarchs, clergy and faithful were in attendance.

All active and retired Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy (Priests & Deacons) are invited to join us for our next clergy retreat. Please plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. We will adjourn at noon, on Thursday, September 12. Please note - this is a change from the originally announced dates of October 8-10, 2019.

Parishes can download the forms, instructions, and manual to complete their 2020 Archdiocese Allocation Form, which will facilitate the 2020 Archdiocese Allocation process both at the Metropolis level and the Archdiocese level.
