As a key part of the ongoing Archdiocesan effort to improve financial and internal controls, and in keeping with his commitment to proper governance and transparency, Archbishop Demetrios of America has announced the appointment of a new group of financial and legal professionals to serve as members of the Archdiocesan Council’s Standing Audit Committee. Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta will serve as the Presiding Hierarch for the Audit Committee.

It was announced this morning that Hurricane Irma has upgraded to a Category 5 storm threatening the state of Florida and the East Coast. Even not yet knowing the exact path of the storm, it is still not too early to begin preparations and make emergency plans. Those that may be affected should monitor Hurricane Irma through national and local channels. Clergy, along with parish leadership, will make the decision to cancel services for everyone’s safety if need be.
