On the Feast of St. Alexios, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios, joined by Fr. George Tsahakis and Fr. Nicholas Kakavelakis celebrated the Presanctified Liturgy in the Metropolis' Archangel Michael Chapel. Metropolis and Cathedral staff offered a reception in His honor at the Annunciation Cathedral. May God grant Metropolitan Alexios many more years!

Nearly 70 of our active and retired clergy (Priests & Deacons) gathered at the Diakonia Retreat Center, March 1 - 3, 2016 for our semi-annual Clergy Syndesmos. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios thanks our parishes for supporting our clergy's participation. He is grateful to Fr. Paul Costopoulos and Fr. Demetrios Kangelaris for sharing practical knowledge to benefit our clergy and thanks all our clergy that attended.

We recommit ourselves to fighting for religious freedom and the vitality of Saint Andrew's See, notwithstanding the oppressive environment where it is located and where religious freedom does not exist in that entire part of the world.

The Ecumenical Patriarchate hosted a meeting of thirty scholars on January 4-5, 2016. The purpose of the encounter was to establish connections with theologians and academics working in various disciplines and ministries throughout the world in order to become better acquainted with their interests and aspirations for the church, especially in light of the Holy and Great Council. Pictured are Professor Archon George Demacopoulos and Professor Archon Aristotle Papanikolaou, co-founders of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center at Fordham University, along with Dr. Elizabeth Prodromou, Former Vice Chair, U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and speaker at the 2013 Archon International Conference on Religious Freedom in Berlin, were among many of the scholars present.
