Beloved in the Lord, Χριστὸς ἀνέστη. Christ is Risen. ​It is with a troubled and sorrowful heart that I greet you today in the name of our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Like each of you, I was shocked and grieved to hear of the horrifying attack in Uvalde, Texas, which has resulted in the deaths of 19 elementary school students and 2 teachers.

Beginning May 13th through the 15th, Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Birmingham, AL opened their doors to the Metropolis of Atlanta as they hosted the Metropolis Level St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival.

This year's GOYA Lenten Retreat was held April 1-3 at the Diakonia Retreat Center.

As we approach that midpoint of  Great Lent, we are blessed that nine months before the Feast of the Nativity, the events of March 25th give us spiritual refreshment during this holy period.

Saint Porphyrios was organized and named under the omophorion of His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios, and guided under the direction of His Grace Bishop Sevastianos of Zela beginning in to give us direction in November 2020.

The organizing committee of the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach, Florida was very pleased with the results of its 2022 Annual Pilgrimage to the Diakonia Retreat Center in Salem, SC.

The Metropolis of Atlanta Religious Education Committee was blessed to host the Festival of Faith at the Diakonia Retreat Center on the weekend of February 25th & February 26th.

Before his return to New York, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros visited His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios at his residence in Atlanta to wish him a speedy recovery from his recent health troubles... After the visit, the Archbishop stated, “I was pleased to visit my beloved brother in Christ, especially when I saw him standing strong and optimistic as we all know him. His attending physicians are optimistic about the progress of his health and believe that after a necessary period of treatment and rest, the blessed Metropolitan of Atlanta will be back to his usual self. Glory be to God in all things.”

A limited release of "Man of God", a movie depicting the life of St. Nektarios will be March 21st & March 28th. On Sunday, January 23rd, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios elevated the Rev. Fr. Jonathan Resmini, PhD., to the office of confessor, during his visit to Holy Trinity Cathedral in Charlotte, NC. The Metropolitan also named Fr. Jonathan the interim dean of Holy Trinity upon the news that Fr. Vasileios had been assigned Dean of St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria, NY by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. ΑΞΟΙ!

The parish community of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, & Irene Greek Orthodox Church in Cumming, GA. broke ground on a 15,000 sq ft. Multi-purpose building on Sunday, January 2nd after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta. His Grace, Bishop Sevastianos also attended and serve liturgy with Metropolitan Alexios and parish Priest Fr. Barnabas Powell.

A new book, The Virgin Mary in Holy Icons and Stories by Presbytera Athanasia Papademetriou, has just been published. This unique and beautiful hardcover book provides a deep understanding of the Virgin Mary and her miracle-working icons through fascinating stories and 80 full-color icons.

On Saturday December 18th, His Grace Bishop Sevastianos celebrated the Feast of His Patron Saint, St. Sebastian.
