Blessed Thanksgiving Day

November 27, 2025On Thanksgiving Day, His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos is in Constantinople, preparing to celebrate the Patronal Feast of our Holy Mother Church, the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He is praying for us and in turn we pray for His safe travels and thank Him and you for your faithful service in our Lord's Holy Vineyard.
On Thursday morning, with the blessings of Metropolitan Sevastianos, Fr. George Tsahakis, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Atlanta offered Orthros and Divine Liturgy at Archangel Michael Chapel at the Metropolis Office.
Fr. George read His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros' Encyclical for Thanksgiving and offered a sermon for the dual commemoration of St. James of Persia (remembered today) and Thanksgiving Day.

. . . today, as we bow our heads in thanksgiving, let us thank God not only for material blessings, but for the gift of faith—and for the courage of saints like James who show us what true gratitude looks like: a life surrendered to Christ.
