On behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos of Atlanta, Fr. George Tsahakis, Chancellor, joined parishioners at Holy Trinity Church in Charleston, SC, on Saturday, August 2nd for the Retirement Banquet honoring Fr. Aristotle Damaskos. Fr. George offered deep appreciation and heartfelt admiration for Fr. Ari, as he enters retirement, closing a chapter of 37 years of unwavering priestly service to the Greek Orthodox Church. His ministry has reflected Christ’s love—marked by pastoral care, spiritual wisdom, and an enduring dedication to the faithful. By his side throughout this sacred journey is Presvytera Debbie, his beloved wife of 38 years. Her steadfast love and grace have strengthened his ministry not only in the parish but in the world beyond, through her compassionate vocation as a nurse practitioner serving others with humility and care. Brother Clergy, Parish Leaders, Civic Officials and family members offered heartfelt tributes for Fr. Ari's unwavering priestly service at Holy Trinity Church these past 11 years. Among the nearly 300 persons present were family members and parishioners from parishes Fr. Ari previously served. They exchanged cherished memories amidst fellowship and fine dining in the beautiful Trinity Hall.
Father Ari and Presvytera Debbie, may God bless you with many more years of good health, peace, and abiding joy. May your days be filled with radiant light, loving family, and the gentle grace of a life well and faithfully lived. And as St. Paul prayed in Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Amen!
