ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE HOLY EPARCHIAL SYNOD: Approved the transfer of the Chief Secretary of the Holy Eparchial Synod, His Grace Bishop Sevastianos of Zela, to the Holy Metropolis of Atlanta where he will continue his Archpastoral ministry assisting His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta.
The Metropolis of Atlanta is deeply saddened to announce the falling asleep of Very Rev. Fr. Petros Kopsahilis, the former Chancellor of Metropolis of Atlanta. Having retired of late to the Clearwater area, Fr. Petros is remembered by many for his devoted love and service to the Metropolis, even unto his last days. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios has selected St. John the Divine Church in Jacksonville, FL, to host the 2019 Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy Laity Assembly, Philoptochos & Southeastern Choir Federation Conferences. The dates are June 26-29, 2019. Please mark your calendars and reserve these dates so that your parish can plan ahead to send its delegates. More information will be forthcoming later this year.
His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios will serve the Divine Liturgy at our own Panagia Chapel on Sunday, October 14, 2018, with Orthros beginning at 8 AM, and Divine Liturgy at 9 AM. For those of you who were unable to join us for the arrival of the Icon of Panagia Vimatarissa, the icon is now available for all to venerate in the Chapel, so this will be a perfect opportunity to do so
For those of you who wish to relive the glorious arrival of the Panagia Vimatarissa icon, or if you were unable to attend, we were blessed to have a parishioner generously donate his time and efforts to film the procession of the icon, even briefly entering the Chapel.
